Heading out camping this weekend?

Here are 4 ESSENTIALS for a good night's sleep!

1. Sleeping Pad

Are you a back or side sleeper? Depending on your sleeping style, you might need a different style sleeping pad. Side sleepers will appreciate a thicker pad, so their shoulders and hips don't dig into the ground. Back or stomach sleepers can usually get away with a thinner mat.

2. Sleeping Bag

Are you a warm or cold sleeper? This is will help you decide which warmth of sleeping bag to buy. Typically men's and women's sleeping bags differ in shape and warmth distribution, so try a few in the store before you buy to see what's comfy for you!

3. Pillows

Sometimes weight is a consideration when backpacking, so get creative with your "pillows"! Try stuffing your down jacket into a sleeping bag pack sack for a surprisingly comfy pillow. Also, you can use extra clothes to roll up and place between your knees if you're a side sleeper and want to maintain a nice spinal alignment!

4. Eye Mask

For those that want to get a few extra minutes in of snooze time!

The sun is up early these days, so an eye mask is a nice way to avoid waking up at 4:30 am (unless you're aiming for a sunrise peak summit that is!)

PRO TIP: pulling your toque down over your eyes also works great!
